Gateway to the Tahune Airwalk & Hartz Mountains National Park, Geeveston is located 50 minutes south of Hobart along the Huon Highway, about 20 kilometres past Huonville. Founded by William Geeves in the mid 1800’s, Geeveston is now the gateway to the Arve River forests and Hartz Mountains National Park. Tourist attractions and things to do are easy to find. Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs, and Cockle Creek are all within a short drive.
Enjoy a stroll through the garden at the end of the day’s adventures but make sure you take your camera. A family of platypus work and play in the river that runs through the garden meaning that guests are sure to catch a glimpse of this uniquely Australian mammal.
